Wesley Willows was great to work with. My mom was there for rehab, respite, and assisted living. We were very happy with the care. The nurse and CNAs took great care of my mom and always keep updated regarding her care. She was very happy with the food.

Frequently Asked Questions

Deciding to move to an assisted living facility is difficult. We get that and want to give you as much information as possible to help you make the right choice. So, we’ve compiled a list of answers to common questions below. We hope you find them helpful.

  • What is assisted living?

Assisted living is a living arrangement for seniors who need assistance completing everyday tasks like housekeeping, laundry, and transportation. Assisted living communities like Wesley Willows provide all the assistance seniors need while also allowing them to maintain as much independence as possible. Residents are able to live in private, personalized apartments and enjoy access to a wide variety of amenities and social activities in the assisted living facility.

  • How does assisted living differ from other senior living options?

Assisted Living is one of the four most common senior living options. The other three are independent living, skilled nursing care, and memory care. Assisted living offers more dedicated care services than independent living, including 24/7 on-campus nurse availability and ongoing help with daily tasks. Conversely, it does not include as much specialized medical care as skilled nursing or memory care living arrangements offer. Therefore, assisted living is the perfect option for seniors who can still maintain some level of independence without requiring constant supervision by nurses or staff.

  • How does a senior qualify for assisted living?

Seniors must meet two main requirements to qualify for assisted living at Wesley Willows. First, they must be evaluated to ensure they are able to afford the costs of living here. Beyond this, our clinical director must also assess that a resident is healthy enough to handle an assisted living arrangement. We may determine that either skilled nursing care or memory care is a better option for a resident’s needs, both of which are also offered here at Wesley Willows.

  • How do seniors pay for assisted living?

Seniors have many options when it comes to figuring out how to pay for assisted living in Rockford, IL. Personal funds from savings or retirement accounts may seem like the obvious choice, but oftentimes, this option isn’t enough to cover the costs of assisted living on its own. Usually, seniors supplement their personal funds with long-term care insurance or money from a home sale. Veterans can also receive help paying for assisted living from the Veterans Administration (VA). Additionally, the state of Illinois offers some help with paying for assisted living through the Illinois Supportive Living Program.

Need help determining if you can afford assisted living services at Wesley Willows? Our friendly and experienced staff would be happy to help you assess your options. Please contact us today at 815-316-1500 to receive assistance.

  • What is CCRC senior living?

CCRC stands for Continuing Care Retirement Community. This type of senior living organization offers all levels of care to its residents, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care. So, no matter what type of senior care you need, you can find it at an accredited CCRC senior living organization like Wesley Willows.

  • Why should I choose Wesley Willows over other options for assisted living in Rockford, IL?

Wesley Willows is the best option for assisted living in the Rockford area for multiple reasons. First, Wesley Willows is the only Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Rockford. This means Wesley Willows is the only senior living community in the area where you can receive independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care all in one place. Plus, Wesley Willows offers a lifetime of care to its residents, even if they outlive their financial resources.

On top of this, Newsweek named Wesley Willows the fourth best CCRC in all of Illinois and the 60th best in the United States. We also have accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for excellence in governance, administration, resident life, finance, and health care. Therefore, you won’t find a higher quality assisted living facility anywhere in the greater Rockford area.

  • Is Rockford, IL, a good place to live for seniors?

Yes! Rockford has many qualities that make it especially appealing for seniors who need supportive care services. For starters, Rockford is the home of Wesley Willows, which is one of the top five Continuing Care Retirement Communities in Illinois according to Newsweek.

Beyond this, Rockford is also a large city with a wide variety of appealing shopping options and attractions. And the cost of living in Rockford is much lower than the price in larger metropolitan areas like Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
