Senior Living Community to Participate in Student-Led Event

Rockford University Students Organize Field Day at Peterson Meadows

ROCKFORD, IL - Peterson Meadows residents are eagerly anticipating an afternoon of fun and games on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Three Rockford University students named Joaquin, Jasmine, and Taylor are to thank for all the excitement. They have organized the first-ever Peterson Meadows Field Day—a two-hour event featuring a large slate of activities—as part of an assignment for one of their classes.

The festivities will begin at 2:00 pm with a short welcoming ceremony followed by the first few games: Trash Pong, Egg Balance, and Ring Toss. After a short break, the second hour of fun will commence with Corn Hole and Bowling. There will also be painting and coloring stations set up during the event for residents to enjoy.

Peterson Meadows residents are ideal candidates to participate in an event like this because they’re no stranger to these types of activities. The senior living community boasts an impressive activity calendar featuring games that will be part of Field Day, such as Bowling and Corn Hole, as well as Ping Pong, Wii Bowling, card games, ceramics, and more.

“We’re pleased that Joaquin, Jasmine, and Taylor chose our community for their event,” said Melissa Wright, Executive Director of Peterson Meadows. “Field Day will be a great opportunity for our residents to get together and have some fun. We’re also excited for the students and residents to get to know each other.”

We invite members of the press to attend and cover the event. It will take place at the Peterson Meadows campus (6401 Newburg Rd, Rockford, IL 61108) on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 2:00-4:00 pm. Please call 815-501-5011 to let us know you’re coming.
