Highview in the Woodlands

Expanding Its Mission to Provide Extraordinary Care to Seniors.

ROCKFORD, Illinois – Wesley Willows Corporation has acquired Highview in the Woodlands, an Assisted Living and Memory Care community in Rockton, Illinois. The Rockford-based not-for-profit organization acquired the Highview community to expand the exceptional programs and services it offers to seniors.

Like Wesley Willows, Highview in the Woodlands is a not-for-profit organization with a long history of serving seniors. However, Highview offers an alternative product as a standalone community of 36 Assisted Living and 26 Memory Care private apartments. As such, it is an excellent opportunity to offer seniors additional options for extraordinary living.

“We are thrilled to welcome Highview in the Woodlands into the Wesley Willows family,” says Frances Salinas, President and CEO of Wesley Willows. “Our team is confident that Highview is a good fit for our organization because of its long-standing reputation for excellent senior care.”

Exceptional Senior Living at Highview in the Woodlands

The staff at Highview in the Woodlands takes great care in creating a traditional and safe environment that feels like home for residents. Leadership at Wesley Willows will come alongside them to provide resources that expand the offering of high-quality services and life enrichment activities.

“For more than 50 years, Wesley Willows has made a tremendous impact on the Northern Illinois region through its mission to serve seniors,” says David Schmitt, Chair of the Wesley Willows Board of Trustees. “The addition of Highview in the Woodlands to the Wesley Willows family will expand the range of services provided to our residents, including those for memory wellness and assisted care.”

A Growing Reputation for Excellence

The Highview acquisition caps what has been a banner year for Wesley Willows. Earlier this year, the organization received national acclaim from Newsweek Magazine, which ranked it as the fourth best Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Illinois and the 60th best in the entire country. These rankings were based on national online surveys of CCRC residents, acquaintances of residents, medical professionals, and accreditation data.

Wesley Willows merits this recognition by promoting active, secure lifestyles for seniors with a full continuum of care. Residents enjoy ongoing, personalized services for all lifestyle options, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing care, and memory care. They live in beautiful private homes, suites, and apartments with easy access to convenient services, luxurious amenities, and ample life enrichment opportunities.

In 2014, the organization purchased Peterson Meadows, an independent senior living community in Rockford. Ten years later, Peterson Meadows has greatly expanded and improved the living options, programs, and services for residents. Chief among these improvements were the construction of several spacious homes and a beautiful new chapel.
